For Thanksgiving, I have a new craft. Fall Decor! I know it's last minute but I had to find a camera and charge it.
Have you ever gone to a party and seen colorful streamers dangling from one wall to another? Well that's precisely what we will be making. But not rainbow colored ones. Nope, these are orange, red, brown, the colors that come to my mind when I think of Fall. These will be made out of silk leaves, they can be purchased for very little at Micheal's and Hobby Lobby.
Materials
*String or fall colored ribbon
*Hot glue (gun and stick). Other glue works but I fully recommend Hot Glue
*Tape
*Various Fall colored leaves the farther it stretches the more you'll need (in the spring I'll do this but in a Springish-way), you could also make leaves out of paper or print a strand off land. Or you could use fall flowers, I couldn't find leaves so I used sun flowers.
How to do it:
1) Cut the ribbon to the length of your choosing. Depending on how far it has to stretch, will determine the length. I recommend using a bit of tape and taping one end to one place, and the other to the ending point, make sure it doesn't droop to the floor, but isn't straight, it needs to have a small dip.
2) Glue leaves or flowers on in any way, on one side.
When done with this step:
3) Now put small pieces of tape on both ends of the streamer.
4) To hang, put one end on one side of where is it hanging, twist it a few times, so not to be bunched up. Then place other end of tape on ending point of streamer.
Hung:
I hope it was fun and will be a good piece of fall decor. For extra fun, make multiple banners and have them criss-cross.
'Till next time,
Reece
