Hi guys, so today will be my last countdown post for 5 days. I'll have one update during this time. But over the next days please check The American Girl Handy Blog.
Anyway, I thought that in honor of the Christmas pageant I would do an easy to make bit of clothing for your doll. A no-sew tutu!
I originally found the idea on a YouTube channel, the channel is stephenwodadancer. She showed how so if this is confusing please check her channel. The reason I thought a tutu was because my cousins told me that they dance to Christmas tunes on Christmas and Christmas Eve. I now do as well, so Reece (my doll) loves to join in.
Alright well this tutu will be perfect for dancing in the pageant or on Christmas. If you are entering the pageant you can put this on your doll is you want. Let's begin.
What You Need
*Some fabric, Tutus are usually made of a netting fabric, I'm not sure the exact name. Probably a half a yard just to be safe. You'll surely have leftovers but you can use those for other clothes and accessories for your doll. Fabric can be purchased at Wal Mart, Hobby Lobby, or Joann's fabric.
*27 inches of ribbon, maybe less, at least enough to go around the waist of your doll, for a bow 27 inches and for a knot 22. I'll be doing the tie because it will be easier to get on and off your doll. The only part of the ribbon that will show is the tie, but you could have it festive or have a simple color.
I'm not going to show you how because it will be easier for you to watch Sarah's video, click here to go to the link.
